I grew up in a small, Alabama town called Cullman, and was raised in a Christian home. However, even though I understood the gospel at a young age, I lived the double life of being highly involved in church while being enslaved to hidden sin all the way through high school.
During my freshman year of college, I lived completely for myself and the world, and by the end of it I was left completely empty and despised who I had become. I asked God to show me how I might live for Him, and I began reading my Bible daily. Not long after, He allowed me to feel the weight of my sin for the first time. Yet even more, He flooded my heart with the truth of His love for me and the access I had to Him through Jesus Christ. I gave my life to Him in that moment, once and for all.
After four years at Baylor University, I attended the Kanakuk Institute in Branson, Missouri, where God re-wrecked my heart all over again through the studying of His Word. I fell in love with Scripture as I experienced just a fraction of the depth of God’s kindness, faithfulness, and character.
It was also at KI where God began to create in me a desire for ministry. After a year in Dallas, God intervened with an opportunity to serve at Watermark. Now you can find me here in Dallas hanging with friends, going on walks with my wonderful wife Lexie, and being with middle school students here at Watermark!
