I was blessed to have known God since a young age, but it wasn’t until my early twenties that I began to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus and experience the real peace and joy that He offers.
I grew up in Allen, TX, in a loving home where my parents shared the gospel with me, and I accepted Jesus as my savior and was baptized at 11 years old. After high school, I attended Texas Tech University (wreck ‘em!) to pursue a communications degree in public relations. Early in college I went through a dark season of “checking the boxes” of religion (attending church, joining a Christian sorority, participating in Bible studies), but also wanting to live for myself and pursue worldly passions.
While at Tech, I met girls in my sorority who were actively pursuing a relationship with Jesus and finding real freedom from their sins. I had never experienced Christian community where people were vulnerable enough to openly share their struggles, and for the first time I confessed sins that I had harbored guilt and shame over. God used that season to convict me, humble me, and ultimately bestow His grace and love upon me.
After graduation, I moved back to Dallas and worked for three years as an account executive for a digital marketing agency. Some friends invited me to The Porch, and as I began to attend Watermark for Sunday service, I encountered a body of believers truly marked by the love of Christ. I became a church member in Fall 2020 and got involved with the Equipped Disciple ministry (Orville jokes—you learn to love them!).
As I grew in my love for the Lord and passion for the gospel, I felt a pull on my heart to use my skillset and experience for a faith-based mission, and in early 2022 I had the privilege of accepting a position on the Communications team at Watermark. When I’m not at my desk you can find me two-stepping at Red River, reading a new novel, breaking out of an escape room, or getting an iced lavender latte at the coffee shop.
