I was born and raised in Dallas (Dallas Dallas… not a suburb), and this city will always have a special place in my heart. I went to a small, private Christian school from kindergarten to senior year of high school but there was not much discipleship at home. I grew up as the “good kid” and learned to become a perfectionist quick. I knew Jesus was the savior I needed when I was 8 but did not submit my life to God. Through many years of trials with my homelife, I turned more and more away from the Lord. I went to school at Baylor University down in Waco and lived for the world my first two years there.
Through God’s mercy, grace, and kindness he showed me how empty my way of living was. He placed a group of men around me who were eager to follow Jesus, and they truly displayed God’s love for me. It finally clicked how much He loved me, and He captured my heart my junior year of college. He’s been growing me and shaping me ever since!
I moved back to Dallas for the Watermark Institute and after finishing I transitioned to serve on staff at Watermark. I love food, shoes, watching sports, and spending time with friends (a lot of whom are from that group in college). Now I have a passion to show God’s love for those hurting and in need so that they may find comfort from the God of comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
