I was brought up in a Christian home, and learned the Bible from a young age. I always knew I was minister, I just didn’t think I’d work for a church, until Watermark asked me join their team.
I grew up in Tuscaloosa, AL (Roll Tide!), but my earliest memories were from running around outside my grandparent’s house in west Texas. I always felt like, deep in my heart, I was Texan. I returned to Abilene for college, and had great season there. However, my life after college was marked by fear, uncertainty, frustration, and a series of avoidable errors.
I landed in Dallas in 2006 ready to make a name for myself in the advertising world. Externally, I thought I was on the up-n-up. My hard work and determination were certain to escalate me to the top and then off to another region of the globe. Internally, I was a mess—spiraling out of control, and doubting that God really cared, or that He was able to save me.
All of that changed, when I started attending Watermark, and decided to take a risk and become fully known by a group of godly men, who accepted me for who I was and loved me despite my imperfections. Through this experience, my understanding of Christ’s power, His immense love for me, and the relevancy of His Word was turned on its head. Today, I’m most passionate about helping others open up to people in their lives and experience the freedom and true intimacy with God and each other that He wants for all of us.
The Lord blessed me big-time with my amazing and beautiful wife, Heather, two little ones, and a boxer. We spend our time with family and friends, at the lake, or just relaxing, and dreaming about our next ski trip or beach getaway.
